WHAT IS WIC MESSAGING?

WIC MESSAGING is a system allowing WIC participants to request to be contacted by WIC through EMAIL and/or TEXT MESSAGES instead of by telephone. Participants may still receive a telephone call from WIC if we need their input on a short survey or they are about to deliver their baby.

HOW DO I ENROLL IN “WIC MESSAGING”?

   To receive EMAILS from WIC:

   Send an email to phfewic@WICemail.org and include in the SUBJECT LINE:

  • Your WIC ID# (2 letters and 9 numbers with no spaces)
  • Your preferred language for your messages (EN or SP)
  • EXAMPLE:       SS111155000 EN

   To receive TEXT MESSAGES from WIC:

    Send a text message from your cell phone to (626) 593-1547 and include:

  • Your WIC ID# (2 letters and 9 numbers with no spaces)
  • Your preferred language for your messages (EN or SP)
  • EXAMPLE:       SS111155000 SP

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM REALLY ENROLLED IN WIC MESSAGING?

  • You will receive an email and/or text message that confirms that you have been enrolled.

HOW DO I STOP GETTING EMAILS/TEXT MESSAGES FROM WIC?

  • EMAIL: Email STOP in the email subject line to phfewic@WICemail.org. Be sure to use the same email address you used to enroll.
  • TEXT: Text STOP to (626) 593-1547. Be sure to use the same cell phone you used to enroll.
